. r-F Under sponsorship of the Geman Ministry for Research and Technology, the research staff of the GKSS facility in Hamburg, FRG have begun an extensive series of multivent, full-scale steam tests to study th6 late time phenomena occuring in a Mark II-like pressure suppression system following a hypothetical loss-of-coolant accident.
Under terms of the combined US-FRG Containment Information Exchange Agreement, the USNRC is providing technical support in the form of processing, reporting, and evaluation Dr. McCauley, of the test data through contract with the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory.
as project leader of this activity, continues to provide U.S.Liason with this test program and will participate in conduct of a full-break flow multivent pressure suppression experiment and subsequent on-site data reduction activities.
Following his return from Geesthacht, FRG, he will brief members of the NRC staff on the GKSS test program activity. As part of this continuing work, similar travel activity, at 6'to 8 week intervals is anticipated through mid FY81.
