1987 Fort Calhoun Station Refueling Outage Gentlemen:
Pursuant to a request by Mr. D. E. Sells, information regarding major projects planned for the 1987 refueling outage of Fort Calhoun Station is provided.
Fort Calhoun Station will be shut down from the last week of February through mid May,1987 for refueling in preparation for Cycle 11 operation.
The following major projects are planned to be accomplished during the outage.
Ultrasonic testing of irradiated fuel to be reloaded into the Cycle 11 core and replacement or repair of bundles with leaking pins.
Replacement of some reactor coolant system loop isolation valves.
Steam generator tube inspection, secondary side sludge removal, and tube plugging, if necessary.
Replacement of diesel generator turbochargers.

Installation of pressurizer pressure transmitters and related wiring for i
diverse scram system.
Trip circuits will not be connected until NRC review and approval is received. Diverse scram system will not be operational until 1988 refueling outage.
Miscellaneous instrumentation upgrades.
Pressurizer spray valve and piping replacement and repair as necessary.
Raychem splice inspection.

Cycle 11 reload analysis and revised technical specifications have been prepared and submitted to the NRC under separate cover.
The above listing of items represents OPPD's current plans for completing major efforts during our 1987 refueling outage.
Parts problems, manpower require-ments and schedule problems could modify or change this list.
