Dear Dr. Grace:
On May 13,1986, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) submitted a letter (NLS-86-164) to you which provided a schedule for the completion of action items required by IE Bulletin 85-03. This letter is to inform you of changes in the scheduling of two of these items.
CP&L intends to complete the evaluation of the tor.que switch settings (Action B of the Bulletin) and to complete the testing of Safety Injection System valves (Action C of the Bulletin) prior to fuel load for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP). These items had been originally scheduled for completion by July 25,1986 since this was the projected fuel load date at the time of our IEB 85-03 response submittal. As you are aware, fuel load for SHNPP will not occur on July 25,1986. CP&L is, however, committed to completing these two actions prior to the SHNPP fuel load.
The completion dates for other activities provided in the IEB 85-03 response remain unchanged by this submittal. Should any further changes in the IE Bulletin 85-03 completion schedule be warranted, you will be promptly notified.
