Dear Mr. Hunger:

The Commission has issued the anclosed Amendment Nos. 221 and 226 to Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-44 and DPR-56 for the Peach Botton Atomic Power Station, Un't Nos. 2 and 3. These amendments consist of changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) in response to your application dated June 4, 1997.

These amendments change the TSs to eliminate an inconsistency between emergency core cooli ystem-(ECCS) erability requirements and the auto-start and protective r p bypass of t EDGs on an ECCS initiation signal during certain plant configurations.

A copy of the Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. Notice of issuance will be included in the Commission's Bi-Weekly Federal Register Notice.
