ENS Line at the Alternate Emergency Operating Facility Inoperative we were informed by y(our staff that the ENS line at the On July 22, 1986, Facility AE0F) was inoperative.
Subsequent Alternate Emergency Operating discussions with the NRC Telecommunications Branch informed us the only ENS lines being supported by the NRC to any site were to the Control Room, Resident Inspector's office, Technical Support Center and Emergency Operating Facility.
This letter is to inform you repairs to the AE0F ENS line will not be made and we will be initiating the paperwerk necessary to have this line removed.
In the event it is necessary to activate the AE0F, the standard backup method dedicated (commercial line connected to the Headquarters Operations Center [301-951-0550]) will be utilized.
