NOTICE OF PROPOSED CORPORATE MERGER OF DQE, INC. AND ALLEGHENY POWER SYSTEMS, INC.- PERRY NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNIT NO.1 (TAC NO. M99357)
Dear Mr. Myers:
Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.80, Duquesne Light Company (Duquesne Light) submitted an application dated August 1,1997, describ!ng the proposed merger of DQE, Inc. (the parent holding company of Duquesne Light) and Allegheny Power Systems, Inc. (Allegheny Power).
The application requests the consent of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to allow the Indirect transfer of control of Duquesne Light's interest in the Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Unit No.1, that will occur under the proposed merger of DQE, Inc. and Allegheny Power. We are reviewing the information and have requested the Office of the Federal Register to publish the enclosed notice.
