Gentlemen:

This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. R. E. Baer of this office during

the period December of activities authorized by NRC Operating

License DPR-40 for Fort 15-19, Calhoun 1986, Station, and to the discussion of our findings

. with Mr. W. G. Gates and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the

inspection.

Areas examined during the ins)ection included select portions of the radiation

protection program. Within tiese areas, the inspection consisted of selective

examination of procedures and re)resentative records, interviews with

personnel, and observations by tie NRC inspector. The inspection findings are

documented in the enclosed inspection report.

During this inspection, it was found that certain of your activities were in

violation of NRC requirements. Consequently, you are required to respond to

this violation, in writing, in accorcance with the provisions of Section 2.201
