Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. R. E. Baer of this office during
the period December
of activities authorized by NRC Operating
15-19, 1986, Station, and to the discussion of our findings
License DPR-40 for Fort Calhoun
with Mr. W. G. Gates and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the
.
inspection.
Areas examined during the ins)ection included select portions of the radiation
protection program. Within tiese areas, the inspection consisted of selective
examination of procedures and re)resentative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by tie NRC inspector.
The inspection findings are
documented in the enclosed inspection report.

During this inspection, it was found that certain of your activities were in
violation of NRC requirements.
Consequently, you are required to respond to
this violation, in writing, in accorcance with the provisions of Section 2.201
of the NRC's " Rules of Practices," Part 2,d on the specifics contained in the
Title 10, Code of Federal
Regulations.
Your response should be base
Notice of Violation enclosed with this letter.
We have also examined actions you h ne taken with regard to previously
identified inspection findings.
Tte status of these items is identified in
paragraph 2 of the enclosed report.
