- Po Box 10429 Southport. Nc 28461-0429 OCT 151997 SERIAL: BSEP 97-0450 Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555
. BRUNSWICK STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT, UNIT NOS.1 AND 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-325 AND 50-324/ LICENSE NOS. DPR-71 AND DPR-62 LICENSED OPERATOR REQUALIFICATION SIMULATOR TRAINING HOURS Gentlemen:
In a letter dated June 28,1990 (NLS-90-132),. Carolina Power & Light (CP&L) Company responded to a Confirmation of Actions Letter concerning licensed operator requalification program deficiencies at the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant (BSEP), Unit Nos. I and 2. In this response, CP&L committed to provide a minimum of 16 hours1.851852e-4 days
0.00444 hours
2.645503e-5 weeks
6.088e-6 months
of simulator training per quarter per licensed operator.
Consistent with the NRC's systems approach to training (SAT) process for operator initial and requalification training, CP&L is revising this commitment. Rather than providing a minimum number of quarterly simulator training hours, CP&L will provide simulator training for each
- licensed operator, in accordance with identified needs, as part of the evaluation element of the SAT process as defined in 10 CFR 55.4. This may result in more or less than 16 hours1.851852e-4 days
0.00444 hours
2.645503e-5 weeks
6.088e-6 months
of simulator training per quarter, dependent upon individual circumstances. In April 1997, the -
BSEP's SAT based licensed operator requalification program had accreditation renewed by the National Nuclear Accrediting Board.
- Please refer any questions regarding this submittal to Mr. Warren J. Dorman,-
