In response to your letter of July 10, 1973, the following additions to item 7 should be made.
When filling this out, I assumed that the item referred to the immediate follow-up of the pacemakers specifically, and, as noted in the appli-caticn, I do that exclusively at this hospital.
- However, several others are involved in the actual follow-up care of the patients.
There are five board--certified cardiologists on the sD ff, and the majority of the pacemaker patients are under their follow-up care.
These include Bernard Kinlaw, M. D.,
Martin Frank, M.
D., Daniel Horner, M. D.
and J. R. Kitchell, M.
D.,
Vall of 1245 Highland Ave., Abington, Pa. 19001, and Robert W.
- Smith, M.-
D.,
Rydal Road, Jenkintown, Pa. 19046.
I remain the only surgeon implanting the pacemakers, and while I am not board-certified in thoracic surgery, I am fully qualified for the performance of thoracic surgery, and I have full privileges

or same at this institution.
However, my senior associate, Dr.

Alfred S. Probese, M. D., who is also the Chief of Surgery of this Hospital, is my constant adviser and is boarded in thoracic surgery.
All of the above named physicians should be included in the 4
application, and I thank you very much for calling this to my-attention.
