Gentlemen:
This refers to your meeting with representatives of Region V, Nuclear Reactor
Regulation, and Inspection and Enforcement in Walnut Creek on January 7,
1987, regarding your Readiness Review Program for Supply System Nuclear
Project No. 3 as described in the attached report.
The meeting'was useful to clarify the expected results of the Readiness
Review Program. The Supply System and the NRC expects the program to provide
an additional level of confidence that the work completed to date meets the
requirements of the Supply System programs and the commitments to and the
requirements of the NRC. Also, it was agreed that the program will define all
outstanding questions or actions that will have to be answered or completed
after the project has been restarted.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
Should you have any questions concerning this meeting report, we will be glad
to discuss them with you.
