SUMMARY

DOCKET NO. 50-302 This refers to the meeting conducted at your request, in the Region II Office on June 3, 1986. This meeting was held to discuss proposed changes to the Crystal River Physical Security Plan.

It was our opinion that this meeting was beneficial and has provided a better understanding of the forthcoming plan changes.

In accordance with Section 2.790 on NRC's " Rules.of Practice," Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.

JUN 111986 ENCLOSURE 1 Meeting Summary Licensee: ~ Florida Power Corporation Facility: Crystal River License: DPR-72 On June 3, 1986, members of the NRC Region II staff and representatives of Florida Power Corporation (FPC) met to discuss the ongoing perimeter intrusion detection system (PIDS) upgrade.

The portions involving the protected area barrier, perimeter alarm system, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) assessment, and lir,hting appear to be consistent with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p).

The licensee also discussed interface changes with the central and secondary alarm stations.

The licensee was advised that their proposed plan of action would need to be discussed with the NRC's Offices of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) and Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS) before the Region could concur that the changes could be processed pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(p).
