This refers to the routine resident safety inspection by Mr. R. A. Gramm on

August 4 - September 28, 1986 at the Limerick Generating Station, Unit 2,
Limerick, Pennsylvania of activities authorized by NRC License No. CPPR-107
and to the discussions held by Mr. Gramm with Mr. J. M. Corcoran and other
members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection,

Examinations of as-built pipe supports identified one instance where the
installed support configuration was not in accordance with the applicable
.
engineering drawing. This example of inadequate inspection by field
engineering and quality control has been cited in the enclosed Appendix A
Review of long-term maintenance records identified that the diesel generator
Woodward governors have not been stored in accordance with the vendor
'
instructions which require lubricating oil to be maintained in the governor.
This instance of non-adherence to vendor storage requirements has been cited
in the enclosed Appendix A, Notice of Violation. A response to this. report is
required by 10 CFR 2.201, please follow the instructions in Appendix A in the
preparation of your response.
The response directed by Appendix A, Notice of Violation, is not subject to
the clearance procedures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by
the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
