This refers to the special inspection conducted by K. Manoly of this office on
September 8-12, 1986 at BECO's_ Nuclear Engineering Office in Braintree,
Massachusetts and at the Pilgrim Station of activities authorized by NRC
License No. OPR-35 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Manoly
with Mr. T. Ferris of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I Inspec-
tion Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the inspec-
tion consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
