of Generic Letter 83-28, " Required Actions Based on Generic Implications of Salem ATWS Events." These responses are contained in your letters dated November 4, 1983, and February 1 and 2,1984. We find that additional information, identified by the enclosure, is needed to complete this review.

Item 2.2.1 - Program Confirm that all safety-related components are designated as safety-related on plant documents such as procedures, system descriptions, test and maintenance instructions, operating procedures, and in information handling systems so that personnel performing activities that affect such safety-related components are aware that they are working on safety-related components and are guided by safety-related procedures and constraints. Describe and justify any exceptions.

Item 2.2.1.2 - Information Handling System Confirm that your information handling system includes procedures which govern its development and validation.

Item 2.2.1.3 - Use of the Equipment Classification Listing Confirm that a procedure or procedures exist for use of the information handling system to determine and indicate that an activity is safety-related and to determine the appropriate procedure to be used for the safety-related activity.

Item 2.2.1.5 - Design Verification and Procurement Confirm that your procurement specifications require the appropriate design verification and qualification testing to be provided by the supplier.
