This specific compensa-tory action was deemed necessary as a result of the identification of the unresolved status and lack of complete information concerning our request, submitted to the NRC by lettor dated September 28, 1982, for exemption from the regulations, requiring separation of safe shutdown circuits in the Control Room.
A meeting between members of the NRC staff and representatives of Consumers Power Company was held at the Big Rock Point Plant site on May 8, 1986, to discuss, among other topics, the issue of safe shutdown circuit separation in the Plant Control Room. As a result of that discussion, an agreement was reached that the information provided during the May 8, 1986, meeting resolved the NRC concerns regarding circuit separation in the Plant Control Room, Accordingly, as of 4:00 p.m. on May 8, 1986, fire watch activities in the Big Rock Point Control Room, performed for the pure:,se of compensatory action, were terminated.
