Two wel di ng fi. ;;w c t ie n t.- - ml r ecenti f infonned me that thej vish to go on record w th tht NK repreing concerns that they have.

The enclosure identifies the individur.ls and the dates they spoke with me.

Individual A stated "we will probably be discriminated against later" (af ter hearings) and he feels that " upper :rianagement still doesn't give us credit for assurinE the QA program was followed."

Iridividual E stated that he fears possible retaliation will occur after the hearings. He stated "I feel Duke will come down hard on us after the beering is over."

lie stated "I think that upper management still blames Welding Inspectors for the concerns and is not appropriately aware that I

these issues were management problems." He also stated that "No Wel ding inspectors are being transferred or promoted and others, especially women, are being promoted to positions I feel that Welding Inspectors should be considered for."

He indicated that he felt management was not considering welding inspectors for these improved positions because the inspectors had expressed the concerns.

I I read back the words in quotes and obtained concurrence from them.

They wish to remain confidential. 1 assure.d them that the NRC will reinain sensitive to these concerns and would assist them if t. hey wished to file discrimination charges,
