WAIVER OF COMPLIANCE WITH TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 3/4.8.1, "A.C.
SOURCES" In response to the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BG&E) request dated September 19, 1986, the Commission herewith grants the following waiver of compliance with Technical Specification (TS) 3/4.8.1, "A.C.
Sources" to Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-53 and DPR-69 for the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Unit Nos. 1 and 2.
This waiver is provided for the requirement of Action Statements "b" and "e" of TS 3.8.1.1 which states, " restore (at least) two diesel generators to operable status within 240 hours0.00278 days <br />0.0667 hours <br />3.968254e-4 weeks <br />9.132e-5 months <br /> (from the time of initial loss) or by 4:00 p.m. E.D.T. on September 23, 1986, whichever comes first, or be in at least HOT STANDBY within the next 6 hours6.944444e-5 days <br />0.00167 hours <br />9.920635e-6 weeks <br />2.283e-6 months <br /> and in COLD SHUTDOWN within the following 30 hours3.472222e-4 days <br />0.00833 hours <br />4.960317e-5 weeks <br />1.1415e-5 months <br />."
This waiver of these portions of Action Statements "b" and "e" of TS 3.8.1.1 shall expire at 6:00 p.m. on September 23, 1986, provided that:
(1) the licensee conforms in all other respects to the requirements of TS 3/4.8.1, "A.C.
Sources", and (2) the licensee conforms to all statements contained in the BG&E submittal dated September 19, 1936.
