ADDITIONAL FOLLOWUP OH TiiE RICK PARKS' ALLEGATION DATED FEBRUARY 18. 1983 6
On Itarch 10, 1983, Ri.ck Parks called and asked for a meeting to discuss additional information concerning his previous allegation.
When he arrived, he had Carl Hrbac (another engineer) with him.
Parks' told me that he had infomation from Larry King that Bob Arnold. President, GPU Nuclear, was trying -
to get King to reveal a connection between Parks and King's consulting fir =
" Quill Tcch".
Parks interpreted this as GPU trying.to set him up to be fired for comir.g to the 1:RC with his allegation.
I asked him if he had any further specific information concerning safety questions.
He said that there was' no single cor.ccrn which would be a safety issue but only how management was handling the T111-2 cleanup.
In respor.se to his concern that he would be fired for bringing his concerns to the NRC, I referred him to the Department of Labor, as you suggested to Tony Fascno.
I also told hir.: I thought he should contact the GPU Ombudsman Office.
He indiccted he would probably contact both the Departraent of Labor and the GPU 0:6uds.m n.
Carl lirba'c did not say anything during the meeting.
