Dear Mr. Keppler:

The above references provided information concerning a

- potential" deficiency reportable pursuant to 10 CFR SU.55(e)

- regarding the adequacy of ASME Material procurement Documentation at our Braidwood Station. The purpose of this letter is to provide an updated status of the corrective actions taken to resolve this issue. This letter is considered to be a Interim Report.

As previously reported, of the estimated total 4300 heat / lot numbers, an estimated 2200 required additional documentation from the manufacturer / supplier or corrective action to associated records. At this time 95% of these 2200 heat / numbers

'have been resolved. An estimated 377 of the total heat / Jot numbers require some additional corrective action to bring the documentation into conformance with ASME'Section III requirements. This additional ' corrective action has been completed for approximately-three quarters of the documentation. Commonwealth Edison Company is

. presently. working on the remaining documentation in order to complete the corrective action. It.is estimated the entire review effort is approximately 98% complete.

.It is anticipated that a final report will be submitted in January, 1986 indicating the results of the corrective action.
