The following applications were filed by your Company with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) for review in connection witht the Catawba Nuclear Station Unit No. 2:
1.
A May 29, 1984 request for exemption from General Design Criterion 4 regarding alternative pipe break analyses for the pressurizer surge line.
2.
A June 18, 1984 request for exemption from General Design Criterion 4 regarding Class 1 accumulator injection lines.
Fees pursuant to 10 CFR 170.22 of the March 23, 1978 regulations were not remitted with your applications.
Based on information provided by the NRR staff as the result of their Class III fee ($4,000) your applications, it has been determined that a -
preliminary reviews of is appropriate for each request since the review will involve consideration of a single safety issue. Therefore, it is requested that your Company remit the sum of $8,000 to this office.
If the NRR staff's final reviews of these applications reveal that these L
fees are not appropriate, you will be notified and any necessary g*Q adjustments will be made.
