SUBJECT:
CATEGORICAL EXCLUSION FOR AMENDMENT REQUEST DATED AUGUST 8, 1986 By letter dated August 8, 1986, Westinghouse requested an amendment to License No. SNM-1107 to modify the ventilation equipment section of SNM-1107, adding criteria for positive pressure gloveboxes. The purpose of these gloveboxes is to provide atmosphere control where it is required for product quality. Neither public health and safety nor the environment will be compromised as a result of this amendment. Accordingly, the staff has concluded that the following conditions have been met:
- 1. There is no significant increase in the type or significant increase in the amount of any effluents that may be released offsite,
- 2. There is no significant increase in individual or cumulative occupational radiation exposure,
- 3. There is no significant construction impact, and
- 4. There is no significant increase in the potential for or consequences from radiological accidents.
Therefore, in accordance with 10 CFR 51.22(c)(11), neither an Environmental Assessment nor an Environmental Impact Statement is warranted for this proposed action.
