control rod drive mechanisms and helium circulators have been satisfied.
Additionally. the staff concludes that the metallurgical and failure consequence evaluation of the remaining components is acceptable.

Our Safety Evaluation'is enclosed. Our Safety Evaluation related to the sources of chlorine in the primary coolant' system was provided to you by letter dated _ November 13, 1986.

CORROSION EFFECTS OF CHLORINE IN FORT ST. VRAIN PRIMAR SYSTEP We have completed our review of your submittals dated January 31, March 18 and 26, 1985, and July 9,1986, concerning chlorine in the Fort St. Vrain primary coolant system.

Based on this review the staff has concluded that the recuirements for materials resistant to chlorine-induced corrosion in critical control rod drive mechanisms and helium circulators have been satisfied.

Additionally, the staff concludes that the metallurgical and failure consequence evaluation of the remaining components is acceptable.

Our Safety Evaluation is enclosed. Our Safety Evaluation related to the sources of chlorine in the primary coolant system was provided to you by letter dated Noven,ber 13, 1986.
