JAN 0 01587 Docket Nos: 50-443; 50-444 Public Service of New Hampshire ATTN: Mr. Robert J. Harrison President and Chief Executive Officer P. O. Box 330 Manchester, New Hampshire 03105 Gentlemen:

Subject:

NRC Meeting with Seabrook Licensee This refers to a meeting held at the Region I Office in King of Prussia, Pennsyl-vania on December 16, 1986 between members of the NRC Region I staff and represen-tatives of PSNH.

The meeting was conducted at the licensee's request.

Attendees are listed in Enclosure 1.

A public meeting notice was published and is attached as Enclosure 2.

At this meeting, the licensec indicated that a formal submittal to the NRC regard-ing their Seabrook Station Emergency Planning Sensitivity Study would be made be-fore the end of the week.

The Regional Administrator indicated that such a sub-mittal would be reviewed in the Region for information only and that evaluation of any proposals in this regard were within the purview of NRR and the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board (ASLB) convened for Seabrook licensing.

On December 18, 1986,.the licensee did make their petition to the ASLB requesting a reduction in the plume exposure pathway emergency planing zone to a one-mile radius.

Additionally, the Regional Administrator inquired whether the licensee responses to requests for information from the U.S. House Subcommittee on Energy Conservation and Power had been submitted on the docket.

Subsequent discussion with the licen-see indicated that all past and future responses will submitted as public documents.

The New Hampshire Yankee (NHY) Senior Vice President also discussed recent NHY organizational changes and licensee plans regarding Seabrook Unit 2.

No reply to this letter is required.

Your cooperation with us in this matter is is appreciated.
