SUMMARY

Month:

September, 1988 1

Catawba Unit 2 began the month of September at 96% power, limited by Feedwater Control Valvo problems. The unit operated at 96% power until 09/23 at 1255 when The power was reduced to 91% to perform a Turbine Control Valve Movement Test.

unit then returned to 95% power, still limited by Feedwater Control Valve problems. The unit was then reduced to 93% on 09/28 due to continued Feedwater Control Valve problems. At 1253 on 09/29, while still at 93% power, the unit was removed from service following an inadvertent loss of Generator Stator Cooling Water. The unit remained off line at month's end.
