Re: Yankee Nuclear Power Station By letters dated November 5,1983 and July 9,1985, you provided your response to Item 2.1 of Generic Letter 83-28. By letter dated August 15, 1986, the staff issued a safety evaluation on part 1 of this item which concluded that your program for identifying, classifying and treating components that are required for the reactor trip function as safcty related is acceptable.

Enclosed is the staff safety evaluation on Part 2 of Item 2.1, Vendor Interface Programs-RTS Components. As discussed therein, the staff finds your responses to this issue acceptable. Therefore, Item 2.1 of GL 83-28 is complete.
