GENERIC LETTER 83-28 ITEM 2.1 (PART 1) EQUIPMENT CLASSIFICATION Re: Yankee Nuclear Power Station By letter dated November 5, 1983 you provided your response to item 2.1 of Generic Letter 83-28. Enclosed is the staff safety evaluation report, and supporting Technical Evaluation Report, on part 1 of this item. The staff concludes that your program for identifying, classifying and treating components that are required for performance of the reactor trip function as safety-related is acceptable. Therefore, Part 1 of GL-83-28 item 2.1 is resolved; Part 2 of item 2.1 remains open at this time.
