We have received a copy of your submittal dated October 31, 1986, which was filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (0NRR). It is our understanding that review of this submittal is required to determine whether your long-term resolution of issues resulting from the failure of PT.459 on July 30, 1986, at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1, is acceptable. The ONRR review staff consider this a separate review from the interim position contained in Proposed Change No. 165 of November 12, 1986, for which your Company remitted a $150 application fee.

The fee required pursuant to 10 CFR 170 was not remitted with your

f submittal. Therefore, it is requested that your Company remit the application fee of $150 for your October 31, 1986 submittal. Your Company will be billed for any additional costs for the review of your submittal in accordance with 10 CFR 170.12(c) and 170.21.
