This letter refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by
Mr. R. A. McBrearty of this office on November 17 - 21, 1986 at the Calvert
Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1, Lusby, Maryland. Mr. McBrearty discussed
the findings of the inspection with Mr. J. R. Lemons of your staff at the
conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the

inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative

records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
