CATEGORICAL EXCLUSION FOR AMENDMENT REQUEST DATED JULY 8, 1988 By letter dated July 8, 1988, Georgia Power submitted an amendment application to License No. SNM-1981 to authorize changes related to the design, evaluation, ar.d designation of the spent fuel racks.
The licensee plans to use a steel retainer to provide additional support for the poison sheets.
The ad.
dition of these retainers will increase neutron absorption, therefore, there will be no adverse effect on criticality safety. The change will not have any effect on the public health and safety or the environment. Accordingly, pursuant to 10 CFR 51.22c(11), neither an Environmental Assessment nor an Environmental Impact Statement is warranted for the proposed action.
