Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-413 and 50-414 Technical Specification Amendment Nuclear Service Water System Actuation Logic

Dear Sir:

This letter contains a proposed amendment to the Technical Specifications for Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-35 and NPF-52 for Catawba Units 1 and 2. The request involves changing Technical Specification Table 3.3-3 to reflect a proposed change in the actuation logic for the Nuclear Service Water System.

This modification la currently scheduled to be implemented in October, 1988.

It is also requested that the Technical Specification amendment allow a 48 hour5.555556e-4 days <br />0.0133 hours <br />7.936508e-5 weeks <br />1.8264e-5 months <br /> waiver of compliance (per pit) with the Nuclear Service Water Action Statement requirements to allow for the implementation of this modification.

The attachment contains the proposed change and a discussion of the justification and a No Significant Hazards analysis. The analysis is included pursuant to 10 CFR 50.91 and it has been concluded that the proposed amendment does not involve significant hazards considerations.

This proposal involves one amendment request to Catawba's Technical Specifications. Accordingly, pursuant to 10 CFR 170.21 a check for $150.00 is enclosed.

Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.91 (b) (1) the appropriate South Carolina State Official is being provided a copy of this amendment request.
