Re: Proposed Rule on Annual Fee for Nuclear Power Reactors Operating Licenses or Applications and Major Materials Licenses and Conforming Amendment Fed. Reg.

24078 The Commission has denied your request to extend the time period for commenting on the proposed Part 171.

A short comment period is required if the Commission is to meet the deadline for promulgating a final rule established by Congress in the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act.

C'ommissioner ^sselstine would have granted a one week extension.
