Gentlemen:
Subject: NRC Region I Inspection No. 50-443/88-07
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. A. Cerne and
others of this office on May 24 - July 5,1988 at the Seabrook Station, Unit
No.1, Seabrook, New Hampshire.
The inspection consisted of selective ex-
amination of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel,
and observations by the inspectors.
The results of the inspection are de-
scribed in the NRC Region I Inspection Report enclosed with this letter and
were discussed with Mr. D. Moody and others of your staff after the conclusion
of the inspection on July 8, 1988.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
Please note that section 10 of the enclosed inspection report discusses the
!
subject matter and status of certain allegation / concerns which are considered
to remain open.
During this inspection Mr. Cerne discussed the five open
issues with a representative from your Employee Allegation Resolution (EAR)
program and requested that the results of the EAR investigation of these
matters be made available for NRC review.
Please provide the requested in-
formation to include the scope of the licensee investigation, conclusions
reached and subsequent actions taken if required, in accordance with your
normal distribution for docketed correspondence, within 30 days of the date of
this letter.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC'S "Rules of Practice", a copy of
this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
