NRC RESPONSE TO FACILITY COMMENTS The following represents the NRC resolution to the facility comments (listed in Attachment 3) made as a result of the current examination review policy. Only those comments resulting in significant changes to the master answer key, or those that were "not accepteC" by the NRC, are listed and explained below. Comments made that were inaignificant in nature and resolved to the satisfaction of both the exaniner and the licensee during the post examirstion review are not listed (i.e.:

typographical errors, relative acceptable terms, minor set point changes).

Question 1.02: Comment accepted. Answers indicating moderator temperature decreasing or remaining unchanns :: a considered correct responses.

Question 1.04: Comment accepted. Misspelling corrected.

Question 1.05: Comment partially accepted. Tolerance on interpolation and calculations is standard practice and will be given.

No justification was supplied for reducing the point value, therefore the point value remains unchanged.

Question 1.06: Coment accepted. Alternate answer is acceptable.

Question 1.07: Coment partially accepted. Credit will be given for answers obtained from the temperature portion of the steam tables, with appropriate tolerances. No l justification was supplied for reducing tb, point value, therefore the point value remains unchan,,d.

i Question 1.08: Comment not acceped. The limiting parameter is MLHGR, 1 Questicn 2.01: Coment accepted. Answers indicating an understanding of makeup to the isolation condenser will be accepted.

Attachment 4 2 Question 2.07a: Coment partially accepted. The exact setpoint will not be required, but the candidate must indicate that the stepoint varies with demineralizer differential pressure for full credit.

Question 2.08a: Comment accepted. Alternate answer is acceptable.

Question 2.08b: Coment accepted. Setpoints not required.

Question 2.09b: Coment accepted. Alternate setpoints acceptable.

Question 2.09c: Coment accepted. If the candidate identifies the dampers and the correct action, full credit will be given.

Question 3.01a: Comment partially accepted. If the candidate is unable to identify the non-coincident scra as part of the manual scram circuit no points v;ll be deducted.

However, credit will be deducted for any incorrect responses.

Question 3.02. Comment accepted. Typographical error corrected.

Question 3.03: Ccmment partially accepted. If the candidate demonstrates that the area of concern for both parts of the question is the same, full credit will be given.

Part b will remain as part of the question. This question was clarified during adninistration of the examination for several of the candidates.

Question 3.05b: Conent accepted. Additional answer is acceptabit;, but not required for full credit.

Question 3.08- Comment not accepted. The acceleration relays operate as a function of trip oil pressure, initiating a scram at 180 psig if power is above 40%.

Question 3.10d: Coment accepted. Alternate answer is acceptable.

Question 4.01: Comment accepted. Alternate answer is acceptable.

Question 4,02b: Concant accepted. Accept yes if candidate specifies that it is .
