i AFFIDAVIT OF ROBERTA C. PEVEAR, REP.
I, Roberta C.
Pevear, hereby depose and say:
As Civil Defense Director for the Town of Hampton Falls since 1980, and as member of the N.H. General Court for t.e Town of Hampton Falls since 1979, I am familiar with the Town, its citizens, its resources and its topograpny.
The local government of Hampton Falls consists of three part-time Selectmen, a part-time Town Clerk, a volunteer, part-time Civil Defense Director, a Police Chief and a Deputy Chief, both full-time, and two part-time " fill in" police officers.
The duties of fire department for the town are carried out by a volunteer organization.
The duties of the highway department are carried out by a local busi-nessman on a part-time basis, with his own ecuipment.
The duties of health officer are carried out by a part-time person.
The only town-owned vehicle is one police car.
The Town Hall is our designated headquarters, since this is the only town-owned building.
It is the consensus of the town officials, backed up by the votes of the town residents, that we do not have the personnel, nor the road-way networks, nor the structures, nor the vehicles and equipment which would be essential to safely notify and assist these town residents in the event of an alert and/or accident at the Seabrook nuclear power plant, either to shelter or evacuate these residents and/or transients.
