2006 I . OPG02 I This appendix provides the calculations and the qualification maintenance and surveillance rationale for the materials used for gaskets and seals on watertight doors manufactured by the Mosler Safe Company for use in Units 1 and 2 of the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station of Houston Lighting a Power Company.

The environmental conditions for the doors are taken from Specification l Change Notice No.10 dated 11/22/85 to Specification 3A519550036, Rev. 5 dated R1 7/3/85 as supplied to F4H by Mosler on November 26, 1985. These conditions are l presented in Appendix A of this report.

. It has been assumed for temperature calculations that maximum normal service conditions exist 905 of the time (315,360 hours0.00417 days
0.1 hours
5.952381e-4 weeks
1.3698e-4 months
of 40 years), abnormal conditions exist 105 of the time (35,040 hours4.62963e-4 days
0.0111 hours
6.613757e-5 weeks
1.522e-5 months
of 40 years) and accident l conditions exist for 30 days (720 hours0.00833 days
0.2 hours
0.00119 weeks
2.7396e-4 months
). When only abnormal or normal service conditions are designated, these conditions are assumed to exist for 350,400 hours0.00463 days
0.111 hours
6.613757e-4 weeks
1.522e-4 months
(40 years).
