A routine, safety inspection of your annual emergency preparedness exercise
was conducted by Mr. C. Amato of this office and other members of a NRC

team on October 14-16 1988, at your Haddam Neck Plant, Haddam Neck,
Connecticut. Discussions of our findings were held by Mr. Amato with your
I
staff at the conclusion of the exercise.

Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas,

the inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and

representative records, interviews with personnel and observations of the
emergency exercise by team members.

Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified.

Connecticut Yankee's performance during the exercise demonstrated the

ability to implement the fmergency Plan and Emergency Plan Implementing
Procedures in a manner that would provide adequate protective measures for
the health and safety of the public.
