SUBJECT:
NRC PARTICIPATIUM IN THE BRUNSWICK ANNUAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE EXERCISE I would like to express my thanks for the efforts expended by the Brunswick Plant staff in the preparation and conduct of the recent exercise with your facility ar.d the Nuclear Regulatory Comission, Region 11.
Our objectives in exercisiag the Regional interaction with the plant staff were met, and, in that regard, w$ learned much that may be applied to future response planning.
Preliminary nbu <ations related to our participation were provided to your management during the exit meeting on October 19, 1988.
In addition, A. T. Boland of Region 11 will be in contact with the Brunswick Emergency Planning staff to discuss in detaii these observations.
I sincerely hope that by efforts such as this we can mutually identify areas in need of development or improvement in emergency planning 50 that in the event of an actual emergency we may be better prepared to protect th.' health and safety of the public.
