Inspection Report 50-353/88-25
This letter transmits our report of the routine resident safety inspection by
Messrs. R. A. Gramm and R. L. Fuhrmeister on September 12, 1988 to October 16,
1988 at the Limerick Generating Station, Unit 2, Limerick, Pennsylvania of
activities authorized by NRC License No. CPPR-107 and to the discussions held
by the inspectors with Mr. J. M. Corcoran and other members of your staff at
the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed NRC Region
! Inspection Report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews
with personnel and observations by the inspectors.
Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that an activity was not
conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements, as set forth in the Notice
of Violation involving the failure to incorporate the Redundant Reactivity
Control System wiring design change into the Unit 2 design, and is enclosed
as Appendix A.
In your response to this violation please let us know what
actions you have taken to provide assurance that other Unit 1 modifications
have been appropriately included in the design and implemented at Unit 2.

enforcement policy (10 CFR 2, Appendix C).
A response to this report is required by 10 CFR 2.201.
Please follow the
instructions in Appendix A in the preparation of your response.
The response
directed by Appendix A, Notice of Violation, is not subject to the clearance
procedures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
