By letter dated January 23, 1986, you submitted information en the material properties and fast neutron fluence of the Rancho Seco reactor vessel in compliance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.61..We have completed our review of the information.
From.our review of the material properties, we-have concluded that the controlling material has been properly identified ard the,iustifications given for the copper and nickel contents and the initial i
RT are acceptable. From our review of the neutron fluence on the'inside subceofthepressurevessel,wehaveconcludedthattheRancho.Seco 4
pressure vessel meets the fracture toughness requirements of 10 CFR 50.61 for operation to the end of the current license. Our Safety Evaluation Report (SER) is enclosed for your information. However,- we request that you 'subnit periodic future reevaluations of the RT and corresponding comparisons with thepredictionsinyourletterdatedJabry 23, 1986 (Reference 1 in the enclosed SER). These submittals can be included with submittals of Pressure-Temperature operation limits recuired by 10 CFR 50 Appendix G.
This request for additional information was approved by the Office of-Management and Budget under clearance number 3150-001), which expires September 30, 1989.
