NOTICE OF VIOLATION (NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 70-1113/88-17)
This refers to the Nuclear Regulatory Ccceissier (NRC) inspection conducted by P. G. Stoddart and C. A. Hughey on September 26-30, 1988.
The inspection included a review of activities authori:ed for your General Electric Nuclear Fuel Manufacturing acility. At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discusNd with those members of your staff identified in the enclosed inspection report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, irterviews with personnel, and cbservation of activities in progress.
The inspection findings indicate that certa 8a activities appeared to violate NRC requirements.
The violatien and refertices to pertinent requirements are described in the enclosed Notice of Violation.
It is the policy of the NRC to cite but not require a response to a Notice of Violation for violations of minor safety or envircreental concern identified by the inspector and for which, by the end of the inspection, the licensee had already taken or was in the process of taking adequate corrective actions to prevent recurrence; therefore, no response is required.
