This is in response to your letter dated February 4,1987 (your reference
- 696-1018), in which you requested a one-time exemption from the requirement of 10 CFR 70.58(e) to measure all special nuclear material received, relative to an unopened receipt to be transshipped to Indonesia.
We have determined that the granting of your request is warranted and will not adversely affect the comon defense and security nor the public health and safety, and is otherwise in the public interest. Accordingly, we are issuing an unnumbered license condition to Amendment SG-1 of your License No. SNM-696, effective imediately, to read as follows:
Notwithstanding the requirement of 10 CFR 70.58(e) and of Section 3.1 of the Plan identified in Condition 2.1 to measure all received special nuclear material, the licensee need not measure the receipt material identified in their 696-1018 letter, dated February 4, 1987, provided such material remains tamper-safe sealed while possessed by the licensee.
