In a letter dated September 23, 1988, you requested new completion dates for 21 items for which completion dates had been previously established.
It is understood that the proposed changes are requested based on the preliminary results of your long-range planning efforts.
We have reviewed your request and concur with the proposed completion dates with the exceptions discu u ed beinw.
The exceptions were discussed with Ms. D. Matthews of your staff.
Replacement of disc assembly springs for HCV-249 and HCV-2988 (OPPD Tracking Number-870326).
It is understood that you will exercise these valves during the current refueling outage to verify that the valve springs are intact.
Based on successful operation of the valves, the proposed cortmitment date is acceptable.
Develop formal guidance for preparation of safety analyses for operability (0 PPD Tracking Number-870628).
It is our understanding, based on discussions with Ms. Matthews, that the date for completion of this item will be changed from December 30, 1988, to completion prior to plant startup from the current refueling outage, presently scheduled for approximately December 5,1988. This change appears to be appropriate since analyses for operability may be required prior to plant startup.
