APRIL 1986 i

8 NGBBeIIVE_SuddGBLQE_DEEBBIING_EXEEBIENCES At the beginning of the month, power was maintained at 882 MWe (90.8%

power) due to generator vibrations.

power decrease was started.

On April 15, a On April 16, the unit was removed from service to balance the generator rotor.

Later that day the unit was phased to the grid.

On April 17, power was ippreased to 56.5%.

On April 17, the unit tripped on high Steam Generator level.

On April 19, after a delay to repair #3 inverter, the unit was phased to the grid and loading commenced.

On April 19, at 22gg power held at 75% for mussel control.

On April 20, the unit was loaded to 98% power to maintain 2605-2615 MWth while Westinghouse engineers evaluated the generator.

On April 24, power was lowered to 68% then increased to 76% to enable Westinghouse to collect data on the generator.

On April 25, power was increased to 99%.

On April 27, a load reduction was made to remove P-2C from service because the P-2C pressure controller was failing.

The motor driven feedpumps were put in service and power increased to 97.3%.

On April 29, power was icwered to 92.4% as a precautionary measure.

The failure of a tie breaker had created the potential for a sudden loss of grid loading.

Power was returned to 97.3% within a few hours.

A power level of 97.3% was maintained for the remainder of the, month.
