This refers to the routine resident safety inspection conducted by Mr. W. J. Raymond
of this office on February 4 - March 17, 1986, at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power
Station, Vernon, Vermont. The inspection consisted of observation of activities,
interviews with personnel and document reviews. The results of the inspection are
described in the NRC Region I Inspection Report enclosed with this letter and were
discussed with Mr. J. P. Pelletier of your staff at the conclusion of the inspec-
tion.
No violations were identified within the scope of this inspection.
A paragraph in the enclosed inspection report contains details of your security
program that have been determined to be exempt from public disclosure in accordance
with 10 CFR 73.21 (Safeguards Information). Therefore, the portions so identified
in the inspection report will not be placed in the NRC Public Document Room and
will receive limited distribution. The inspection report cover sheet and the re-
maining portions of the inspection report will be placed in the Public Document
Room, in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a).
