This refers to the inspect'on conducted by Mr. T. Koshy of this office on
August 20 to September 2, 1988, at your corporate office in Parsippany,

New Jersey, and at Middletown, Pennsylvania, of activities authorized by NRC
License No. OPR-50 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. T. Koshy

with yourself et the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this ir.spection are described in the NRC Region !

Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
However, a
concern was identified during the inspection regarding potential overloading
of the Emergency Diesel Generators (EOGs). In response to our questions, your
staff has stated that a worst case estimate of the loading with limiting seasonal
i
loads brings the EDGs to their continuous duty rating of 3000 kw.
Your staff
,
agreed to dccument the basis for this estimate within a month of your receipt
!
of this report.
In addition, your staff committed to complete detailed calcu-
l
1ations and provide a report to NRC by June 1989 demonstrating the acceptability
'
of the EDG loading,
