OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE UNIT TWO 07-01-86 to 07-14-86 Unit 2 entered the month on-line operating at 812 MWe and at maximum core flow. The unit operated until 0147 hours of July 12th, when a turbine trip and high flux scram occurred because the IC MSIV went full-close during normal surveillance testing. After de-inerting was completed, station personnel entered the drywell and replaced the MSIV limit switches. 1 The reactor was made critical at 0855 hours of July 13th, and scrammed at 1420 hours because of low condenser vacuum. The reactor was again made critical July 14th at 0140 hours and the unit was brought on-line at 1445 hours of the same day. 07-15-86 to 07-31-86 The unit operated the remainder of the month reaching a power level of 790 MWe with an availability of 91.81% and a capacity factor of 81.33%. i 4 1 1 I l i

ODCM REQUIREMENTS Revision to the Off-Site Dose Calculation Manual 1 Table 8.4-1 of the Dresden site specific Off-Site Dose Calculation Manual (ODCM) was revised to clarify the need for far field air sample analyses. The sampling frequency at the far field locations remains continuous. However, the frequency of analysis of the samples shall be determined by an evaluation of the activity levels of the near field sampling locations. Footnote b was added to.page 8.4-6 stating that far field air samples need 1 to be analyzed only when near field locations indicate elevated activity levels confirmed as having their origin in airborne effluents released from the station, or at the discretion of the Emergency Planning Supervisor. 4 1 The appropriate sections of Table 8.4-1 were updated and incorporated into Revision llA of the ODCM.
