Monthly Rsport for Byron Unit 1 A.
Summary of Opsrating Experienca for Unit 1 Byron Station's Unit 1 continued in its 100% power startup testing sequence.
The Unit began this reporting period in a maintenance outage following the 100*4 plant trip test in late July. The unit started to return to power on August 1, but was administratively shutdown due to a failed surveillance on the containment hatch. After repairs, the Unit was bought to 98% power and remained there until August 7th.
On the 7th the Unit was tripped by a 2 out of 4 coincidence of high negative flux rate. The cause was an error by Instrument Mechanics performing a power range channel calibration. The Unit was returned to power and remained there until August 25th.
On August 25th, power was reduced to 25% to facilitate repairs on the Feed Water Reg. Valves. Afterwards, on the 29th, the Unit was administratively shutdown due to weld concerns on certain Safety Injection valves. The Unit remained shutdown through the end of the reporting period.

942 MW INSTRUCTIONS On this form list the average daily unit power level in MWe-Net for each day in the reporting month. Compute to the nearest whole megawatt. These figures will be used to plot a graph for each reporting month. Note that when maximum dependable capacity is used for the net electrical ruting of the unit there may be occasions when the daily average power level exceeds the 100% line (or the restricted power level line.) In such cases the average daily unit power output sheet should be footnoted to explain the apparent anomaly.
