This transmits the May.1 - June 30, 1986 resident inspection findings by Messrs.
T. Foley and D. Trimble at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Lusby, Maryland.
Those findings were based on observation of activities, interviews, and document
reviews, which have been discussed with Mr. Lemons of your staff.
An apparent violation of NPC requirements is cited in Appendix A and categorized
under the revised NRC Enforcement Policy, 10 CFR 2, Appendix C.
This regards a
failure to maintain proper administrative control over High Radiation Area Keys.
Although Section 2.201 of Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR 2), requires that you provide a written statement of explanation to this Notice
of Violation, inspector examination of the corrective actions stated in your letter
dated June 6,1986 found that adequate corrective action was taken prior to the
completion of this inspection.
Therefore, no response is required.
