OPERATING LICENSE N0, DPR-40 (TAC NO. M97334)

Dear Mr. Gambhir:

The Commission has issued the enclosed Am~)dment No,184 to Facility Operating License No. DPR 40 for the Fort Calhoun S.ation', Unit No. 1.

This amendment consists of changes to the Technical. Specifications (TS) in response to your ap)lication dated November 20, 1996, and su)plemented by letter dated Fe)ruary 20, 1997,'and submittal dated Marca 25. 1997.

The amendment revises the Technical Specifications (TS) to reflect administrative changes.

The changes involve revisions to TS 2.15, 5.3, 5.5, 5.6. 5.7. 5.11, and the Table of Contents.

The revisions reflect organizational changes and correct. editorial and typogra@ic'l inaccuracies.

.Also, Paragraph 3.0 of the facility operating license is removed. This paragraph described the modification that increased the spent fuel storage

capacity.

The November 20, 1997, application also contained a proposal to revise TS

'Section 5.2.

Amendment No. 181, dated March 27, 1997, revised this section and allowed the_ relocation of controls for working hours to the Updated Safety Analysis Report. The remaining portions of the application were subsequently-reviewed'and are being issued under this amendment.

A copy of our related Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. The Notice of Issuance will be included in the Commission's next biweekly Federal Reaister notice.
