Dear Sir:
In accordance with the provisions of the Code of Federal Regulations section 10 CFR 50.4 and 50.36, Washington State University TRIGA reactor facility (License No. R-76) requests to amend its Tecimical Specifications. In a previous letter dated September 19,1997 we proposed some changes to make our document comply with the July 2,1997 letter from Ellis W. Merschoff, Admmistrator of Region IV and to correct some minor errors. In a subsequent phone conversation on October 2,1997, with our US NRC Project Manager, Marvin Mendonca, it was decided that the xporting requirements could be simplitied even further. Therefore the more compact reporting requimment section of our Technical Specifications was amended, reviewed and approved by the Facility Reactor Safeguards Committee.
The section in which the changes occur is "6.10 Reportine Requirements." The proposed changes to pages 35 and 36 are enclosed and the specific items are marked by sidebars.
If you have any questions, please contact Dr, Gerald Tripard, Facility Director (509) 335-0172 Sincerely,
